Polyester is in high demand and, guess what? It's made from the same material as plastic bottles (PET). So, we use a process to transform those bottle flakes into fibres for our jackets, enabling us to fill our puffers with a warm recycled fill or incorporate them into our shells. Additionally, polyester blends seamlessly with natural fabrics, resulting in lightweight and quick-drying material for our clothing.
Sustainable polyester is not only more eco-friendly, as it requires less energy to produce compared to virgin polyester, which comes at a high environmental cost, but it also contributes to the reduction of plastic waste in landfills. We are committed to creating more environmentally friendly products by incorporating recycled polyester into our growing product range season after season.
The Forest Stewardship Council®
Starting in Autumn 2023, we've decreased the number of hangtags on all our clothing, with 100% of these hangtags being FSC® certified.
These tags are made from responsibly sourced wood fibre, promoting environmental best practices and the protection of the world's forests. Look for the FSC® stamp on our Rainbird products!
We know that it's not just about what's inside the package, but also how it's all wrapped up. We want to make sure you're incredibly thrilled when you receive our beloved products, without any unnecessary or unsustainable packaging to dampen the mood.
So, we're putting in the hard work to make some fantastic changes. We know it might take a little time, but we're fully committed to creating a better future. Get ready for packaging that's as extraordinary as the goodies inside!
